What are eSight Glasses?
eSight glasses are an all-in-one, wearable electronic device that uses a high-definition camera, smart algorithms, and high-resolution screens to enhance vision for people with central vision loss, such as from macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy.
The device captures what is in front of the user, processes the image to maximize visual information, and displays it on screens inside the glasses, allowing the user to see and read with greater clarity, achieve enhanced vision, and participate in daily activities independently.
A typical eSight user has visual acuity from 20/60 to 20/800, some as high as 20/1400, caused by more than 20 different eye conditions including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and Stargardt’s disease.
Wearing eSight, many achieve enhanced visual acuity making eSight an exceptional assistive technology for eye care professionals to provide to their low vision patients
How eSight Glasses Work
- Camera & Processing:
A cutting-edge camera captures the visual information.
- Software & Displays:
Smart algorithms process this information to create a real-time image, which is then displayed on high-resolution screens inside the eyewear.
- Enhanced Vision: The device helps stimulate and provide increased visual input to the brain from the user’s remaining photoreceptor function, leading to enhanced vision and visual acuity.
